You need your machine's \u003cstrong\u003eROC\u003c\/strong\u003e — that stands for Rated Operating Capacity, the weight your loader is actually rated to lift and carry safely.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eBobcat T740:\u003c\/strong\u003e 3,200 lb ROC, minus the 900 lb bucket, leaves 2,300 lb. That's only about 0.28 cubic yards — just over half the drum. Fill it about halfway and stop.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eKubota SVL75-3:\u003c\/strong\u003e 2,490 lb ROC, minus 900 lb, leaves 1,590 lb. Careful — that's only about 0.40 cubic yards. Run it three-quarters full and you'll be fine.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe capacity written on the mixer measures volume, not what your loader can actually lift. Most sellers don't do this subtraction for you — we did.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eWhere to find your ROC number\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCheck your machine's \u003cstrong\u003edata plate\u003c\/strong\u003e — usually near the operator's seat or stamped on the lift arm — or your operator's manual, under \"rated operating capacity\" or \"lift capacity.\" If you can't find it, look up your exact model on the manufacturer's website, or call your dealer with your serial number.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eWhy buy one at all\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou mix concrete on site and pour it right where you're standing, instead of paying for a small truck delivery and standby time. For footings, posts, pads, and repair work, the ready-mix truck's minimum order charge is usually the reason this attachment exists.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eDon't buy this one if\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eYou're pouring more than a couple of yards at once.\u003c\/strong\u003e Order a truck instead. You'll spend the whole day mixing small batches, and the pour will end up with weak seams called cold joints, where old and new concrete don't bond well.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eYou have no water on site.\u003c\/strong\u003e This isn't a small detail — mixing needs water, and hauling enough of it is most of the work people don't plan for.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eYou won't rinse it out right away.\u003c\/strong\u003e Concrete hardens inside the drum.
