48" Skid Steer Pallet Forks (No Hydraulics Required)

Will This Fit Your Machine?

Almost certainly, yes. If your loader takes a Universal Skid Steer (SSL) quick-attach plate, these forks bolt straight on. No hydraulics, no flow rate, no case drain (an extra oil line some tools need) — there is nothing here that can be the wrong fit.

This is the simplest attachment we sell. It is the one we tell people to buy first.

Confirming Your Attach Plate By Eye

Look at the front of your loader arms. A Universal Skid Steer (SSL) plate has two hook-shaped tabs across the top edge and a wedge or levers that clamp in at the bottom. See that, and these forks fit. Almost every full-size skid steer built since the 1970s uses this plate — the only common exception is a mini skid steer, which uses a smaller, different plate.

What you can actually lift

The fork frame weighs about 450 lb by itself. That weight comes off your machine's rated operating capacity (called ROC — the safe weight limit) before your load does:

• Bobcat T740 — 3,200 lb ROC minus 450 lb frame = 2,750 lb you can actually load.
• Kubota SVL75-3 — 2,490 lb ROC minus 450 lb frame = 2,040 lb you can actually load.
• CAT 259D3 — 2,010 lb ROC minus 450 lb frame = 1,560 lb you can actually load — the tightest margin of any machine we've checked (see the CAT 259D3 guide).

The forks themselves are rated to 4,000 lb. Your machine is what limits you, not the forks.

The thing that catches people out

Your machine can lift less weight the further you reach out. A load that lifts fine right next to the machine can tip you forward once you extend your arms out — especially on a slope, or with the load raised up high. Keep the load low and pulled in close whenever you are driving.

Sizing The Forks To Your Pallets

The standard pallet in North America is 48 in long by 40 in wide (called a GMA pallet). These 48 in tines run the full length of that pallet for a stable lift. If most of what you move is not a standard pallet — tote bins, custom crates, odd-sized skids — measure your own openings before you order.

Do not buy this one if

• You need to grab things, not carry them. Loose brush and logs need a grapple. Forks will just push them around.
• You run a mini skid steer. Mini machines use a different attach plate. We sell those separately.
