The attachment is rarely what fails you. The teeth are.

Cup teeth in clay pack and stop cutting. A dirt auger bit in rock burns through two sets in a day and you conclude the machine is junk. Wrong teeth in hard ground is the most expensive mistake in trenching, and it is the one nobody asks about at the point of sale.
