Attachments for a Bobcat T870

Bobcat T870 — 23.0 GPM standard, 36.6 GPM high flow, 3,500 psi. GPM means gallons per minute — how much hydraulic oil (the fluid that powers attachments) the machine pushes out. PSI means pounds per square inch — how hard that oil pushes. Same hydraulic circuit as the T770, but with a published pressure figure, which changes what you should check before ordering.

Runs on standard flow (23.0 GPM)

• Pallet forks, rock bucket, and snow pusher — no hydraulics needed. They bolt straight on.
• Root grapple, needs 12–25 GPM — yes.
• Auger drive, needs 10–25 GPM — yes. No case drain needed — it runs a gear motor, not a piston motor.
• Backhoe, concrete mixer, and snow plough, all 10–25 GPM — yes to all three.
• Trencher, needs 16–30 GPM — yes. Needs a case drain too.
• Brush cutter, needs 17–30 GPM — yes.
• Stump grinder, needs 18–35 GPM — yes. Needs a case drain too.

Needs high flow (36.6 GPM)

• Forestry mulcher, needs 30–45 GPM — yes, comfortably inside the range.

Check the pressure, not just the flow

• This machine runs at 3,500 psi.
• Plenty of attachments are rated closer to 3,000–3,500 psi.
• You can match the GPM number exactly and still be running too much pressure. Ask us for the pressure rating before you order.

Watch for too much flow

• Trencher and brush cutter cap at 30 GPM. Stump grinder caps at 35. Your high flow sends 36.6 — run all three on standard flow instead.

How much weight it can lift

Lift capacity, or ROC (rated operating capacity), is the safe weight limit the manufacturer sets for a machine. Go past it and the machine gets unstable.

The Bobcat T870 has an ROC of 3,650 lb — the highest of the three Bobcat track loaders in this series (T740 at 3,200 lb, T770 at 3,475 lb). Our rock bucket needs a machine rated at 2,000 lb ROC or higher. The T870 clears that by 1,650 lb.

How attachments mount

The T870 uses the Universal Skid Steer quick-attach plate — Bobcat calls its own version Bob-Tach. It's the same style of mount used by full-size machines across almost every brand. The T870 is a full-size track loader, not a mini, so this is the plate you'll be ordering attachments for.
